Kumi Yamashita is a New York based artist that has released an ongoing portraiture series labeled ‘Constellation’. Each of her work consists of threads and nails with a whiteboard as the canvas. The image is rendered utilizing contrasts built up by varying layers of thread.

Takanori Aiba (相羽高徳) was born in 1953 in Yokohama, Japan. Studied Japanese traditional textiles and dyed clothing in Tokyo Zokei University. Built a first career as a freelance maze illustrator since 1978. His maze works were serialized in “POPYE”, Japanese fashion magazine for 10 years.
Recently completed by the Eastern Design Office is The Flatiron Building – a unique apartment building constructed in the Youkaichi district in Shiga, Japan. Inspired by the shape of the land the property needed to be built on no one wanted the land for several years, the apartment building features a sharp acute-angle at one end.
Motoi Yamamoto, a Japanese artist uses salt to create monumental floor paintings. The pictures below are from Fondation Espace Ecureuil, a gallery in France. The whole thing took 50 hours over the course of five days and a whopping 2,200 pounds of salt.
