Olek was born Agata Oleksiak in Poland and graduated from A. Mickiewicz University in Poland with a degree in cultural studies. In NYC, she rediscovered her ability to crochet and, since then, has started her crocheted journey. Olek believes she is chose crochet as her artistic method in order to do two things at once: watch movies and make art.
